RSVL is a special interest affiliate of the AMERICAN COUNCIL OF THE BLIND ACB
Our organization is a service organization for the blind in Louisiana, we were established in 1973, and we are celebrating our 37th Anniversary this year. Let me start with a little history on the Randolph-Sheppard Program. Two Congressmen, Senator Jennings Randolph and Senator Morris Sheppard established this federal program in 1935. Their bill was submitted and passed in 1935; it was titled The Randolph-Sheppard Act. This act provided business opportunities for blind US citizens. Our organization was formed to lend support services and assistance to the blind managers in Louisiana. We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We provide a variety of services to the blind managers, upward mobility, publications, seminars, scholarships, training, volume buying, rebate programs, a national office, transportation, etc.

Caveat emptor “Let the Buyer Beware” It has come to our attention that there is a new vendors group formed that is based in Chicago, Illinois named Randolph-Sheppard Vendors IN America, they list no address, no phone numbers (other than a fax number) and no contact person on their request for your business information. They also have a Facebook page that is misleading to blind vendors as many of the RSVA leaderships pictures are posted there.
